The folk dance drama Norma May, meticulously created by the Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture's ethnic and cultural work team, appeared at Xi 'an Radio and Television Grand Theater on October 22 and 23 to participate in the "11th China Art Festival" held in Shaanxi Province and compete with more than 50 participating plays from all over the country for the "15th Mandarin Award".

"Norma May" takes the Hani people's migration history as the background and tells the story of a thousand years ago, the Hani people, who had lived a life of no struggle with the world in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, were suddenly forced to migrate due to the invasion of powerful foreign enemies. In the process of cutting mountains to build fields and rebuilding homes, Hani people fought with foreign enemies for blood and fire, and finally found beautiful homeland-"Norma May" on the south bank of the Red River.
The play skillfully uses the sound and light of the modern stage, combines the actor's exquisite performance, the plot conception of ups and downs, and the unique choreography design, adding its symphonic and three-dimensional nature, bringing the audience an eye-catching and thrilling audio-visual impact, offering a stirring song and dance feast, and deducing a stirring and magnificent national epic.
